Here at HelloGiggles, we’re huge fans of both Beyoncé and Amandla Stenberg. Besides their incredible work in their own respective careers, they’re both such amazing activists and role models to girls the world over.

That’s why our hearts are gushing over this amazing compliment Beyoncé gave Amandla Stenberg on the set of her visual album Lemonade.

In a recent interview with Glamour, Amandla revealed that Beyoncé told her that she hoped that her daughter Blue Ivy would grow up to be like her.

“Beyoncé comes up to me, and she goes, ‘Hello, Amandla. I just wanted to tell you I want Blue to be just like you,’ and I felt like the hands of God were like gently caressing my entire body and soul, like I felt like I had reached nirvana…”

The fact that Amandla was able to go from receiving that insane compliment to working on set with Beyoncé is a testament to her incredible talent and professionalism, because we would have just been gone. Amandla then went on to describe a crazy anecdote about working on set alongside Zendaya, and their commitment to the project.

“Me and Zendaya had the task of climbing up this ladder into this tree that was very far off the ground, and we were wearing these like petticoats that were so long, like dragging on the ground and heels, and we had to climb up these ladders, and we were joking with each other, we were like, ‘If this is how we die, that’s okay.'”

Luckily, Amandla and Zendaya did not die for Beyoncé (though as Beyoncé fans we totally understand the sentiment), and we’re so happy that we can blissfully fangirl out imagining the mutual admiration between Beyoncé and Amandla.
