When you have a pretty demanding job — like, say, as the President of the United States of America — you probably assume that the stress might make other aspects of life difficult. But luckily, Barack and Michelle Obama claim it improved their marriage. In their eyes, the eight years at the White House just brought them closer together.

And, well, we love them even more now. Because, these two truly are the definition of “relationship goals.” After getting hitched in 1992, they’ve been happily married for 24 years and counting.

Michelle and Barack were recently interviewed by People to discuss their final days in the White House, and hey — we’ll get any kind of relationship advice from them that we can.

She noted that prior to his job as president, her husband held political jobs that often lead him away from their Chicago household on business.

Interestingly enough, the two of them met at the same place of business way back in the ’80s — an agency called Sidley Austin, where Barack was an intern and Michelle was his adviser. So, with that in mind, it’s safe to say that they thrive when they’re together.

For Barack, he saw his wife in a brand new light after she took on the role of First Lady.

Swoon. Barack is definitely correct — it was a big change for everyone, but Michelle embraced it perfectly.

We’re going to miss these two, but we’ll always have them around as the perfect example of what a solid, happy relationship should look like.
