We love Ashley Graham for her role as a trailblazing plus-size model. But we also appreciate her honest appraisal of the lack of body diversity in the fashion industry. Once again, Ashley Graham is speaking out, this time about New York Fashion Week. From speaking out about not being able to find a designer to dress her for last year’s Met Ball, to bringing some body positivity to campaigns for major brands, we love how Graham pushes for more inclusivity in the fashion industry.

In a recent interview with Yahoo, Graham voiced her opinions on NYFW.

And unfortunately, she thinks designers have a lot of work to do.

Graham said that designers need to include curvy models on the runway.

We want to see more body types represented, and it’s no surprise that Graham is frustrated with the lack of representation of curvy models on the runway. In addition, Graham specifically called out a few designers whom she felt would have benefited from a little more body diversity.

It will be interesting to see if these shows will heed her advice and branch out in their casting choices the next time around. We hope they do!

Clearly, the fashion industry still has strides to make in the way of body inclusivity. But with Ashley Graham as a spokesperson, we hope it won’t be long before there are even more groundbreaking changes.
