We always get excited when there’s a baby on the way. But we get even more excited when that baby is going to be official royalty! So hearing that Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden are expecting a new addition their family is music to our ears.
The Swedish royals confirmed the news on Instagram.
The couple already have one beautiful son, Prince Alexander. He turns a year old next month. So he’ll be the perfect age to play with his younger sibling when he or she comes along. Alexander already has plenty of royal cousins to play with, but it will be fun to have a sibling of his own.
According to the official Instagram announcement, the couple is delighted about the pregnancy.
Prince Carl Philip is the second child of the King and Queen of Sweden. His older sister, Crown Princess Victoria, has two (adorable) children. And his younger sister, Princess Madeline, does as well.
The royal couple keep an active schedule that won’t be affected by the pregnancy.
The baby is due September of 2017, so all their spring and summer events will continue as planned.
Princess Sofia, who married Prince Carl Philip in June of 2015, has openly stated she loves motherhood. She talked about how rewarding her journey as a mom has been in an interview with People.
We are so happy for the royal couple!
