With all the pressures in the world to be perfect at everything, it’s refreshing to learn that Anne Hathaway says she “doesn’t need to be a perfect mom.” Because really, there is no such thing as perfect — we are all in this boat together — and striving for perfection only makes things more stressful (and in turn, less “perfect”). Hathaway opened up about her perspective on (not) being perfect in the latest issue of People, and the point she raises about motherhood is SO utterly important.

HOLLA! Being a good mom comes in many forms, and none have anything to do with being freakishly perfect.

The pressure that society puts on moms is unnecessary, and frankly, counter-productive. Plus, in our humble opinions, little baby Jonathan is super lucky to call Hathaway his mom, because she so often drops pearls of wisdom that remind us about the important things in life.

Thanks for keeping us in line, Anne!
