Amy Schumer is in Boston at the moment, filming her new movie I Feel Pretty, and decided to make one local server’s day.

Schumer and a friend were dining at the Union Oyster House when Schumer left a $500 tip on a $80 tab!

“[Amy] was very nice,” restaurant owner told People. “She said to [the server] that she was once a waitress and knew how hard it was.”

The best part was that the server was a college student who was about to go back to school. The manager adds that Schumer’s server “was excited to be serving her, but then to get that kind of a tip was something else. She’s a hard worker and I’m happy for her.”

Schumer once told Howard Stern that she likes leaving generous tips.

“It’s because it does make me feel great and I feel like I have no other choice,” she told the radio host. “For me, when I was living in a studio in Astoria, if somebody left me $1,000, that would change my month.”

When Schumer saw Hamilton, she left the bartenders a $1,000 tip on a $77 bar tab.

At the time, Schumer said, “lots of love to my fellow bartenders and artists. I’m grateful to them and the cast and crew for another great night.”

It’s true that once you’re a server, even if you quit the industry, that empathy for other servers never leaves you. Bartenders and servers work long hours, on their feet, making sure that everyone else’s night out is a good one.

It’s very cool of Schumer to recognize that.
