These celebrity portraits are not what you think
Just when we thought we couldn’t love cereal anymore than we already do, an artist turned our favorite breakfast food into our favorite celebrities — and now we are obsessed. NYC-based artist Sarah Rosado turned her breakfast into portraits of some of the biggest celebrities in the music world, and we’re more than a little impressed.
Using Corn Flakes and Fruity Pebbles, Rosado creates portraits of celebrities that are so spot-on, they could almost pass as actual photographs — if celebrities were made of cereal IRL, of course.
“The inspiration for the series came one morning while eating cereal and listening to oldies and R&B music,” she told HelloGiggles. “The idea to create celebrity faces with Corn Flakes was born, ‘because music has never tasted so good’, I thought. And at that moment I was struck with the idea to create images of my favorite artists with the cereal.”
We are really happy she didn’t skip breakfast that day.
As for how long each piece takes, Rosado told us, “On average, each piece takes me about six to eight hours to complete. There’s a lot of effort that goes into creating each one. The cereal has to be crushed into very tiny pieces for the special features such as the eyes, nose, mouth, etc. It’s almost like working with a broken puzzle; each bit and piece has to have the right size to fit perfectly.”
Here are some more portraits we feel so deeply connected to (because of the celebrities, but also because cereal):
Ariana Grande
Beyoncé
Drake
Stevie Wonder
Elvis
Lady Gaga
Jessie J
John Lennon
Madonna
Nicki Minaj
Michael Jackson
Rihanna
Amy Winehouse
