This is the one celebrity Drew Barrymore would love to eat
The Netflix original series Santa Clarita Diet is a dark comedy that’s all about cannibalism. So it makes sense that the star of the show would fill us in on who she’d like to eat IRL. As it turns out, Drew Barrymore thinks Cate Blanchett would be the perfect celebrity to eat, and weirdly, we kind of don’t blame her.
At the show’s premiere in Hollywood on Wednesday night, E! News caught up with Barrymore to ask the hard-hitting question of which celebrity she’d like to eat. And TBH, we had no idea we’d be so interested in her answer.
Because hypothetically eating celebrities is so fun! Who knew?!
"Cate Blanchett because she's like the most amazing women ever," Barrymore said. "Funny enough, I never go to a sexual place. I don't want to eat men even though Sheila does. I just think of women I'm in love with."
Well, that’s just the most beautiful answer ever (although less beautiful for the women she’s in love with, probably — you know, if she were to actually eat them).
As for how she thinks Blanchett would taste? “Umami!” Barrymore said. “She’d be umami. That’s the combination of all the perfect flavors that create that palate explosion that you just can’t top.”
LOLS. She sounds delicious.
In the new show, Barrymore plays Sheila, a suburban realtor in Santa Clarita who comes down with a mysterious illness/dies/turns into a zombie. All of a sudden, she’s super into eating raw meat, and her husband Joel (Timothy Olyphant) decides to help her cannibalism by killing people so she can eat them. #relationshipgoals
Santa Clarita Diet begins streaming on Netflix tomorrow, February 3rd. If there’s a Season 2, we’re gonna need Blanchett to clear her schedule.
