5 Celebrities Who Showed Themselves a Little Love on Valentine’s Day
From Miley Cyrus to Lucy Hale, stars were all about self-love on the most romantic day of the year.
You can celebrate Valentine’s Day by showering your partner with love and affection — or, you can celebrate the holiday the same way, only you’re bestowing all that sticky, gooey sweetness on yourself.
That’s exactly what single celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Lucy Hale chose to do on Feb. 14. From proclamations to love themselves better, to journeys of sobriety, and even a little puppy love, the stars know how to show themselves the love.

According to a recent survey on self-love by The Body Shop, 60 percent of respondents wished they had more respect for themselves, and 37 percent of single women ranked the lowest on the “self-love index.”
With that in mind, take a cue from some of Hollywood’s biggest female celebs and like Miley says, buy your own flowers. Here are five celebrities who are doing just that.
1. Miley Cyrus
Cyrus has become the unofficial queen of self-love lately, with her hit single “Flowers” in which she proclaims that she can do everything a man can do — for herself. On V-day, she posted across her social media channels with a Wonder Woman-esque pose and the simple caption, “I can love me better.”
2. Lucy Hale
Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale opted for an “alternative” Valentine’s Day post featuring a cake emblazoned with the phrase “1 year!” In the caption, she explains that this is referring to her celebration of sobriety. “While this journey has mostly been private, I felt compelled tonight to let anyone who is struggling know that you are not alone and you are loved,” Hale wrote.
It’s not surprising, given that Hale recently said she’d “die alone before [she] settles” when it comes to love and relationships. Famous friends including Selma Blair and Demi Lovato cheered her on in the comments.
3. Halle Bailey
The new star of Disney’s The Little Mermaid chose to celebrate the day with an Insta carousel of sexy snaps of herself in racy, red lingerie, shared with her four million followers.
4. Gisele Bündchen
Fresh off her divorce from Tom Brady, the supermodel professed her love for her furry friend on the day of love, with the caption “pure love!! I am convinced they are little angels on Earth. Happy Valentine’s Day to all!”
5. Drew Barrymore
Actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore is all about self-love, and living the single life. But, on Feb. 14, she chose instead to profess her love to the almighty rom-com, featuring a photo of herself with co-star Adam Sandler from The Wedding Singer. We, too, love romantic comedies, Drew!
