People all over the world are celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day, and get your tissues ready
Feeling a little bit blah today? We’ve got just the thing to lift your spirits. Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day, and we absolutely love seeing people step it up and spread the love. Feel free to share a little joy with everyone you see and reap the warm fuzzies. Science actually tells us that kindness makes you feel better than ice cream, which is pretty freaking magical!
According to a study in the academic journal Motivation and Emotion, practicing kindness can even help combat anxiety. Even if you aren’t able to leave the house or pay it forward today, these random acts of kindness have us totally inspired.
Yesterday, a group of police officers in Buffalo Grove, a suburb of Chicago, surprised commuters with free coffee and pastries at the local metra station. The officers spent two hours talking to early-morning travelers along with the owner of a local coffee shop, because even something small like a cup of coffee can absolutely brighten someone’s day.
Or, if early mornings aren’t your thing, remember that you’re never too old (or young!) to share a smile. A group of residents at a senior living community in Bakersfield, California, decided to give back to their community by delivering 500 flowers to local schools, churches, and health care facilities. The flowers each had a note reading, “Random Acts of Kindness Day #KindnessIsAgeless,” which definitely made us tear up. false

Even the smallest act of kindness can have a huge impact on someone’s life. You don’t have to be like Drake and give away nearly $1 million to change the world (although we’re pretty in awe of him for doing just that). Everyday acts of kindness are enough to make our world a better place. It only takes a little bit of your time, and we promise it’s totally worth it.
