This is where the cast of “A Little Princess” is now

Back in 1995, A Little Princess was our everything. Actually – scratch that – A Little Princess is STILL our everything. After all, there’s no way we could get over the movie that taught us everyone and anyone can be a princess – no matter who they are, what they look like, or where they come from.
Now, we’re taking a walk down Nostalgia Lane as we look back on this magical movie. Let’s see what the A Little Princess cast is up to these days…
Sara Crewe (Liesel Pritzker Simmons)
After starring in A Little Princess as the titular character, Liesel went on to play Harrison Ford’s daughter in the 1997 film Air Force One. Three years later, she acted in Blast: a movie about four teenagers who pull a prank gone wrong. That was her last film.
Liesel currently travels the world with her husband Ian as they seek out investment opportunities – especially since the former actress gained $500 million after suing her family and now aims to use it wisely (Little Princess-style).
Becky (Vanessa Lee Chester)
Considering that Becky was the heart and soul of A Little Princess, we’re super happy to see that Vanessa continued to act over the years. Here are just a few of the works on her resume: Harriet the Spy (1996), The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Stepsister from Planet Weird (2000), Malcolm in the Middle (2002), Veronica Mars (2006), and How I Met Your Mother (2012). You may also recognize her from one of Toyota’s latest commercials. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
Ermengarde (Heather DeLoach)
Before becoming A Little Princess’ Ermengarde, it’s important to mention that Heather played the Bee Girl in Blind Melon’s “No Rain” music video. This video successfully launched DeLoach’s career, allowing her to star in programs such as The Beautician and the Beast (1997), ER (2003), and Reno 911! (her last acting role in 2008).
Though she no longer acts, Heather still refers to herself as “The Bee Girl” – even on Facebook. She also created the Sweet Bee Candy Stations and Event Planning business in Lake Forest, California after graduating from California State University, Fullerton. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
Capt. Crewe/Prince Rama (Liam Cunningham)
The man who played Sara’s father is now on Game of Thrones. We repeat: Captain Crewe is on GOT. He plays Davos Seaworth, which is just one of many roles he’s taken on since A Little Princess. Liam has also starred in Clash of the Titans (2010), had a stint on Doctor Who (2013), and also shared a BAFTA with Michael Fassbender for their work in the short film Pitch Black Heist (2011).
Also, did we mention that he’s now onGame of Thrones?!
Ram Dass (Errol Sitahal)
Post-A Little Princess, Errol Sitahal’s most notable credit involves playing Dr. Patel in the Harold & Kumar films. He’s also a huge fan of theatre acting and recently spoke to the Black Theatre Workshop about his work on the stage.
Sadly, we’re not sure what happened to Ram Dass’ monkey.
Jane (Camilla Belle)
Though she had a small role, we’re keeping this character in here because she represents actress Camilla Belle’s first time on the silver screen. From then on, Camilla has continued to act in projects such as The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Disney Channel Original Movie Rip Girls (2000), and is now promoting her latest movie The American Side.
To be honest, we’re super excited that both Camilla and Vanessa starred in The Lost World: Jurassic Park AND a Disney Channel Original Movie, to boot.
Lottie (Kelsey Mulroney)
Once A Little Princess was over, Kelsey took on a variety of acting jobs and seems to have left show business completely in 2002. Based on a 2014 Facebook post, it seems she was working as a bartender at the time.
Miss Minchin (Eleanor Bron)
It turns out that Eleanor Bron’s stern days are over. Rumor has it that her name inspired The Beatles’ song “Eleanor Rigby” (she also starred in their 1965 film Help!) Oh – plus, Eleanor wrote a few books when she wasn’t taking on various roles here and there.
Note: We searched far and wide for Lavinia, but she was nowhere to be found. The last tidbit we discovered was that she played Ultimate Frisbee at the University of California, Santa Barbara and then… nothing. A Little Princess mystery, perhaps?
Bonus quote: “Even if they live in tiny old attics, even if they dress in rags, even if they aren’t pretty, or smart, or young, they’re still princesses – all of us!” (Our hearts just grew three sizes.)
