Carson Daly opened up about the death of his mom in a heartbreaking tweet

Yesterday, we learned that Carson Daly’s mother, Pattie Daly Caruso, passed away unexpectedly at her Palm Desert, California home. The 73-year-old suffered from a heart attack on Sunday morning.

After fans sent him their love and condolences, Daly opened up about losing his mom in a personal tweet. Although he said there are no words for how he feels, he urged his followers to hug someone they love tonight. false

Daly and his family also released a statement to Us Magazine on Monday regarding Caruso’s death. It read:

"Kiki, as she was known to her grandchildren and many others, touched so many lives with her kindness, her giant spirit and her love of life. She will be terribly missed by her family and the world, but her spark will shine for eternity."

Siri Pinter, Daly’s wife, also shared a heartfelt post on Instagram expressing her love and gratitude for having known such an incredible woman.

"Heartbroken," Pinter wrote in her caption. "My O'Mo, as I called her ('other mother'), was a vibrant force in my life. I feel her presence today and will forever. Carson and I appreciate your love and support."

We’re sending our positive thoughts and condolences to Daly and his family. Unexpected loss is one of the hardest and most traumatic things in life, and we know this must be a terribly difficult time for Kiki’s family and friends. Let’s use this as a reminder, as Daly wrote, to give our loved ones an extra squeeze — or even just a loving call or text — today.
