Carrie Underwood had the best birthday ever, and it involved a gruesome-looking “Walking Dead” cake

Country star Carrie Underwood has stolen our hearts ever since her American Idol days. So we are delighted to report that Carrie Underwood had an amazing 34th birthday — with a few surprises.

Of course, Carrie got some love from some well-wishers. Most notably, country music star Loretta Lynn. Lynn called Underwood to sing her “Happy Birthday,” which sounds so amazing.

We also learned that Carrie is a huge Walking Dead fan, because she celebrated with these gruesome-looking cakes.

We’re loving the fondant barbed wire and (probably delicious) fake blood. “Zombie” is definitely a weird theme for a cake, but we are totally here for it. We just maybe wouldn’t think about it too hard when we grab a slice.

Here is Underwood showing off another Walking Dead-themed present.

Fans of the show will recognize this as the latest bad guy Negan’s weapon of choice. We love how much this birthday girl is nerding out. It’s seriously so adorable.

Underwood also got some adorable Twitter love from her husband Mike Fisher and their daughter Izzy.

We are so glad to hear that Underwood had such a fun and sweet birthday with people she cares about. That is really all you can ask for each year. In terms of creative projects, Underwood is taking a break. In an interview with People in February, the singer said:

" I feel like my life right now, creatively, is kind of a blank space. I’m really excited about that, because you don’t know where you’re going to go. I’m nervous because I want whatever I do next to be amazing, so I’m kind of taking a little break right now and being a mom and being a wife and going to see some hockey games to see my husband play. I’m kind of waiting for lightning to strike and go: ‘Okay, it’s time to get creative and work on new music!’

We fully support Underwood on this, and are so excited for whatever her next creative project will be. So happy birthday, Carrie Underwood! We hope you have an amazing year.
