Carrie Underwood debuted a simple, gorgeous new bob at the CMT Awards
For as long as we’ve known Carrie Underwood, she’s had flowing golden locks. Her hair has always been Rapunzel-esque, long and gorgeous like a princess. But now, the country singer has completely changed things up with a brand new shorter ‘do. And we’re loving it!
Last night at the CMT Music Awards, Carrie debuted a short bob cut. It falls just above her shoulders, and last night, she styled it in soft waves.
“I needed my life to be a little more simple,” she told CMT. “It was taking too long to do things that shouldn’t take long. It keeps getting shorter!”
Carrie is a very busy woman. She’s a successful recording artist, she’s currently on tour, and she’s a mom to her son, Isaiah. She admitted to Elle that the cut, which she can hardly pull into a ponytail now, was total “mom move.”
“It’s just easier to fix in the morning. I found myself blow drying my long hair trying to make it look decent while Isaiah is like, ‘Pick me up and play with me,’ and I would rather be doing that,” she continued. “I could spend half an hour to blow it dry and have it be super long, or I could spend that time playing with my son, and I’d much rather do the latter.”
Fortunately for us, we got to see Carrie’s bob in action last night. The singer performed song “Church Bells” during the show, and received two awards—for Performance of the Year and Female Video of the Year for the song “Smoke Break.”
