Carrie Underwood posted the sweetest #throwback about her time on “American Idol”
We love seeing stars being humble about their beginnings, which is why we can’t get enough of Carrie Underwood’s latest #throwback to her American Idol days.
If you can believe it, it’s been 12(!) years since Carrie won the reality singing contest. Since then, countless others have gone on to take part on the show, and Idol was even cancelled by its original network, Fox. Luckily, the show has been picked up by ABC for a new season, with pop deity Katy Perry set to appear as a judge, and Ryan Seacrest rumored to return, too!
SO thrilled @ABCNetwork is bringing back @AmericanIdol, and I’m bringing it back to the 🎶MUSIC🎶 👁 you at auditions❗ pic.twitter.com/E0DGe3pVcY

Well, on the 12th anniversary of her American Idol win, Carrie Underwood posted the sweetest #TBT, and it’s actually got us feeling a tad emotional.
Sharing a picture to Instagram, the Nashville singer-songwriter shared how thankful she was for her journey.
"12 years later and I'm still not sure how it all happened to me!" she wrote. "12 years ago today, my dreams came true and life has been a dream ever since! I am beyond blessed and so thankful! #AmericanIdol #TBT"
Aww, this is so sweet. Of course, Carrie Underwood has since gone on to sell MILLIONS of records, and the singer has received numerous Grammy nominations and picked up seven of the prestigious music awards. However, it’s so great to see that she hasn’t forgotten about her start, and we totally love that.
In fact, Carrie recently had a bit of an Idol reunion. Earlier this month, she met up with former judge Paula Abdul.
Paula shared an adorable picture of the pair on social media, writing, “So happy to reunite with the amazingly talented and equally beautiful @carrieunderwood tonight. So proud of your journey…”
Earlier this year, Carrie Underwood announced that she was taking some time off from music to focus on her family. The singer, who has one child with her partner Mike Fisher, also revealed that she had signed a new record deal, and we can’t wait to hear what the next 12 years have to come for her!
Congrats on 12 years, Carrie!
