Carrie Underwood has set her first post-accident performance, and we’re so glad she’s back
You can’t keep Carrie Underwood down for long. Five months after Underwood suffered a harrowing injury from falling on the steps outside her home, the country star is ready to make her comeback. Underwood has set her first public appearance, and it’s more than just a photo opp or press conference. She’s going all-out with a performance at the Academy of Country Music Awards, debuting her soon-to-be-released single.
Now that’s what we call a comeback!
This announcement comes hot on the heels of Carrie Underwood’s first steps back into the public eye, as she shared a photo of herself rehearsing with her band just three days ago. She’s focusing hard on her music in the photo, and now we know why. A performance at the ACMs, along with premiering a new single, takes a lot of hard work, people, whether you’re recovering from severe injuries or not. She even teased her new music on Instagram last night, April 8th, with a gorgeous close-up photo of her eye with glitter dripping down, revealing that the song will officially debut Wednesday at 6 a.m. ET.
No doubt about it, Carrie Underwood has come a long way since her November 10th fall.
She’s stayed completely out of the public eye while recovering from multiple injuries, including a broken wrist and damage to her face that resulted in 40 to 50 stitches. No one has seen a photo of her full face since the accident; although, Underwood’s teases on Instagram practicing with her band show that no injury has taken away her passion for music or performing. It’s so incredible to see her pushing past this personal obstacle and coming out the other side just as inspiring as she’s always been. We’re so glad she’s back and better than ever, and we’re excited to hear her new music!
