Carrie Fisher had a very special request for Harrison Ford during her posthumous Oscars reel, and let’s hope he follows through

If you’re anything like us, you’re still mourning the late, great Carrie Fisher. She’s still on our minds and hearts just about every day. It’s a sure bet the Oscars will honor her in their “In Memoriam” tribute next month.

It’s not unusual for actors to think about the sad day when they’ll be honored, and of course, Carrie Fisher had a request.

In an recently unearthed podcast from the Rebel Force Radio, Carrie Fisher expressed some last wishes, and they involve a huge favor from friend and cast-mate, Harrison Ford.

In this interview, Fisher expressed a wish for Harrison to serenade her in the montage of recent passings they show at the Academy Awards.

She told the radio hosts, "'I asked him [at a party] if he would be in my death reel, and if he would sing,' Fisher told hosts Jimmy McInerney and Jason Swank. 'It’s just something I want.'

Was she joking or is Han Solo going to serenade his movie love?

Fisher had a wry wit and a cunning sense of humor, so it’s like her to make sneak a joke in whenever she can. It’s also like her to deliver a dry joke, leaving the rest of us wondering how seriously we should take her. In fact, this isn’t the first posthumous request that has surfaced. It seems she once requested that her obituary cite her cause of death as, “drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra.”

While one of these requests is more likely a joke than the other, they both seem very much like Carrie Fisher, and should be honored nonetheless.

The podcast hosts have opinions about what they think should happen, telling ABC News:

"That’s what she’s asking for. You can say she’s being flippant and silly, but that’s what she said she wants, said McInerney. “We’re looking to create a movement here.

Fisher revealed in the interview she got the idea from watching the Oscars the year John Hughes was memorialized.

She joked, "He’s going to sing ‘Melancholy Wookiee.'  When they pressed Fisher about whether she's heard Ford sing, she replied, “No. And I don’t think we’re missing much.

Nothing has been confirmed or scheduled, so I guess we’re just going to have to wait. The 89th Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will answer our questions on February 26th!
