Carrie Fisher just explained why she and Harrison Ford never talked about their affair again and it’s hilarious
Ever wonder what exactly happened with Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford after their affair?
When Fisher first revealed the news, Star Wars fans and pretty much everyone else couldn’t believe it. There was a real-life Princess Leia and Han Solo romance, if only for a short period!
But whatever deep and thoughtful conversations you think happened between them after? Be prepared for much less.
Fisher recently appeared on The Graham Norton Show and dished. Graham Norton asked Fisher how the two never spoke about the affair — and it’s been 40 years!
“We saw each other all the time, Fisher says. “I can literally remember three times that we — I of course —made some oblique reference to it.
Fisher says Ford would simply answer with a vague mumble and grumble. How Han Solo-like, right?
Norton notes that now Ford may have to talk about this for the rest of his life.
Fisher laughingly admits she had never thought of that and feels more guilty. However, fellow guest Sandi Toksvig said he could be just as vague as he was with Fisher!
Fisher writes about the affair in her new book, The Princess Diarist. She initially shared the news with People last month, revealing that the pair had a three-month affair while filming Star Wars in 1976. Fisher was 19, and Ford was 33 and married. She said:
“It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend."
Furthermore, Mark Hamill told Entertainment Tonight that he never noticed the affair:
"I was so self-involved at that point, they could've been doing it in front of me and I wouldn't have noticed. I was single and had my own agenda."
Sounds like Star Wars was perfectly cast! Watch Fisher on The Graham Norton Show below.
