Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds will have a joint memorial on March 25th
Following their sad passing, Todd Fisher has confirmed that there is to be a public memorial for both his sister and mother, the late Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.
In December of last year, Star Wars legend Carrie Fisher passed away age 60 following complications from a heart attack. Tragically one day later, the star’s mother, Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds, also passed away. She was 84 years old. It was later revealed that the pair would have a joint funeral and be buried next to each other, while a private ceremony was also held for Carrie Fisher at her Los Angeles home on January 5th and one for Debbie Reynolds on January 6th.
Now Todd Fisher has confirmed the date and location of a public service to remember the two iconic stars.
In a statement released on his website, Todd announced that a joint service would take place on March 25th at Forrest Lawn Cemetery Hollywood Hills at the Freedom Theater in Los Angeles.
"We will be celebrating their lives with friends, family members, and the people who loved them, you," he wrote. "The service will begin at 1:00 PM and immediately afterwards, those who want to walk to their final resting place are welcome to do so."
The event will not be ticketed, and will instead operate as a first-come-first-seated basis. However, as Todd Fisher notes, there will be overflow room in the lobby and screens outside the building for people to watch and listen to the service.
