Carrie Fisher gave Daisy Ridley this dating advice while filming “Star Wars”

Dating is hard — period. Add to this a meteoric rise to fame and the fact that you’re one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, and we doubt it will get any easier. Daisy Ridley, who just happens to be Vogue‘s November cover star, certainly understands this level of fame, thanks to her role as Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

While we don’t know what it’s like to be in Daisy’s shoes, there is someone who did: the great and beloved Carrie Fisher. And in an interview with Vogue, Daisy reveals the advice that Carrie gave her about dating post-Star Wars. And yes, it will make you cry a little.

In her interview, Daisy opens up about her life and time on the set of Star Wars.

She explains that she still doesn’t always feel equipped to handle the level of fame she’s experiencing, and that she’s learning how to stand strong in the limelight. Although existing at this level of recognition can be hard enough, dating with such exposure is another story in itself.

That would be why Carrie gave Daisy advice about dating, saying that it becomes much harder once you're in Star Wars "because you don’t want to give people the ability to say ‘I had sex with Princess Leia.'"

In the interview, Daisy also takes a minute to explain the impact Carrie had on her, including that she’d “never met anyone openly bipolar before, who discussed loving glitter because of her LSD days.”

Don’t mind us, we’ll just be over here crying. We can’t wait to see Daisy in The Last Jedi, with Carrie cheering her on from above.
