Given that she’s quite literally the queen of everything to her fans, when Carly Rae Jepsen threatened to move to Italy in a recent tweet, her fans absolutely lost all chill.
It seems that regardless of what she’s doing, everything Carly Rae Jepsen does becomes a massive internet meme. The singer has seen two of her songs, the majestic “Run Away With Me” and “Store,” become hilarious memes all over Instagram, Vine (RIP), and Twitter, and we’ve absolutely loved it.
Jepsen, whose last album E•MO•TION became a critical and cult hit, has since been working hard on the follow up, with reports that she’s recorded over 50 songs for the collection.

In fact, Carly Rae Jepsen, who is currently on vacation in Italy, confirmed the news on Twitter, before jokingly threatening that she might not ever come back from her holiday.
“She writes something like 50 tunes for her next album, takes a break in Italy and- plot twist…. never comes back ✌?, ” the singer teased on Twitter, before sharing a gorgeous snap of herself in the sun.

Now, Jepsen can’t share anything on social media without her devoted fans from going a bit loopy, but this specific tweet set off a string of people on social media totally losing all their chill. Essentially, the idea of Queen Carly moving to Italy is pretty devastating.
“YOU HAVE TO COME BACK CARLY GAY CULTURE DIES WITHOUT YOU THIS SEASON OF DRAG RACE IS NUTS, YOU’RE ALL WE HAVE LEFT,” one desperate fan lamented.
“THIS ISNT A GAME TO US YOU NEED TO COME AND SAVE POP MUSIC SOON,” said another.
“Don’t play with our E-MO-TIONS, Carly,” one fan shared, adding a meme of Mary J. Blige.

Now, we would certainly be gutted if Carly Rae Jepsen did indeed decide to move to Italy and not release those 50 songs (RELEASE THE SONGS, CARLY), but we couldn’t really blame her for wanting to drop it all and move the Mediterranean. Queen of Italy, tbh.
