Carly Rae Jepsen sings “Run Away With Me” in SIMs language, and it’s beautifully bizarre
Carly Rae Jepsen has been racking up end of the year accolades for her excellent album E•MO•TION and now she seems to have another, unexpected fan: The Sims.
The pop singer followed in the footsteps of Lily Allen and Katy Perry in recording her song in Similish, the gibberish language spoken by characters in The Sims. The end result is actually adorable: It retains all the feelings of the original while inserting a lot of super cute, incomprehensible words in for the lyrics. We love it!
You can stream the Similish version of “Run Away With Me” below or get it on The Sims 4 soundtrack, which is a great thing to turn way, way up on blast while you play the game expansion pack it’s paired with. And for what it’s worth, we strongly suggest cleaning your own home in The Sims, the cleaning services are a rip-off. Kind of wondering if the Sims creators gave Carly any of the cheat codes as part of her payment for this?
Fans who aren’t getting enough of a fix with this cute one-off can also catch Carly Rae Jepsen on tour. She’s playing New Years Eve in Vegas and then heads back out on the road in February 2016 for an extensive United States and Canada tour.
