Cardi B is the latest star to get a Vegas residency, and is Sin City better than a music festival now?
Once upon a time, a Las Vegas residency was something a pop star would do near the end of their career or when they tired of the grind of touring. Now, a Vegas residency is the hottest ticket in town and everyone from Lady Gaga to Gwen Stefani to Britney Spears has one. Cardi B is the latest pop star to plunk down in Vegas for an exclusive residency, and we’re already planning our Sin City vacation.
The Associated Press announced that the Palms Casino Resort is undergoing a $690 million renovation that will culminate in the April 2019 debut of KAOS, a dayclub and nightclub amphitheater-style complex. Cardi B’s exclusive run at the new venue will launch this spring followed by residencies from Above and Beyond, G-EAZY, Kaskade, and Skrillex.
It seems that literally everyone has a Vegas residency, but we’re certainly not complaining. Lady Gaga just launched the Enigma residency at the Park Theater at the MGM Grand, which is set to run until November 2019 at least. According to The Blast, Drake just signed a $10 million deal for a residency at XS nightclub at the Wynn. Country artist Lady Antebellum is currently headlining concerts for the next few months at the Palms. And Aerosmith’s Park MGM residency is launching in April 2019 which will run for select dates in April, June, and July. Who needs music festivals (and potential Fyre repeats) when you can see everyone perform in Vegas?
Keep your eye on The Palms website for those Cardi B tickets that are sure to go on sale very soon.
