Cardi B is officially opening the VMAs, okurrr!

After giving birth to her daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus, on July 10th, Cardi B has spent the past few weeks adapting to life as a new mom. The rapper has been open about the joys and struggles of motherhood, including a candid confession to her fans that she would no longer be participating in Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic Tour as expected. But nevertheless, motherhood hasn’t stopped Cardi from booking new gigs, and we learned today that her first official appearance post-Kulture will be even sooner than we originally thought.

The official Twitter account for the MTV Video Music Awards confirmed with an August 15th tweet that the “I Like It” singer will be opening the 2018 awards ceremony on August 20th—just five days from now. It will be Cardi’s first appearance since giving birth a month ago, and we are definitely impressed by her hustle. On top of opening the show, Cardi has been nominated for 10 VMAs, leaving her tied with the Carters for most nominations. She has received nods in categories including Best New Artist, Artist of the Year, and Best Hip Hop.

Though Cardi won’t be rapping at the show, the 2018 VMAs will feature musical performances from Ariana Grande, Post Malone, Nicki Minaj, Logic, Travis Scott, Shawn Mendes, and Jennifer Lopez, this year’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award recipient. With a lineup like that, this is one awards show we definitely don’t want to miss.

You can tune in to the 2018 VMAs at 9 p.m. ET on August 20th on MTV.
