Cardi B’s former high school history teacher just dragged Cardi’s haters on Facebook, and it’s fire

Cardi B isn’t going to let us forget the current political situation. The rapper keeps herself and her fans abreast of political issues via social media, and has no qualms sharing her opinions—much to the chagrin of some spectators. But there’s one person in particular who fully endorses Cardi’s right to speak her mind…and it’s her former high school history teacher.

Joan Hill, Cardi’s “favorite” history teacher from Renaissance High School for Musical Theater and the Arts in the Bronx, posted a Facebook status on Thursday, January 31st. The post was reposted on Twitter and has since gone viral.

"For those of you on my feed who are trashing Cardi B for representing a political voice," Hill wrote, "a) she probably scored higher than you on the US History regents exam and was in my AP govt class b) you're not nearly as busy as her, and what have you done to advance political discourse in this country? c) She has a national platform and is using it to speak about things that are important...why can't we respect that? d) STFU and take a seat."

And people are living for Ms. Hill’s support.

After taking Ms. Hill’s classes and graduating from Renaissance, Cardi went on to attend Borough of Manhattan Community College, where she took courses in History and French (she never graduated, but we think she’s doing just fine).

After receiving a ton of backlash from followers for the above video, she wrote a follow up post on January 17th, stating, “Soo many people under my comments talking about I shouldn’t talk politics ,I don’t know what I’m talking about , I’m dumb ! Well I know alittle something something..I know 800,000 federal government workers won’t be getting paid till the shutdown is over and government assistants program are shutdown as well as in NO WELFARE , NO WIC,SECTION 8…PAY ATTENTION !!! This can go on for months and it will affect our homes and Country .”

Preach.
