Capricorn season kicks off today, which means your goals are finally within reach
On December 21st, we bid adieu to the happy-go-lucky energy of Sagittarius and usher in the season of serious and ambitious Capricorn. It would be helpful to see Capricorn not as a party pooper, but as a strong parental figure who wants you to focus on your homework and tend to your chores before you go out and party. There’s a good reason for this: Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the planet known for responsibility, rules, and discipline. Okay, so maybe it sounds a little like a party pooper. But let’s look at it this way: Saturn also provides meaning and structure in our lives. Without it, there’d be a heck of a lot of chaos, along with a frenetic energy, and nothing would ever get done. Saturn allows us to put our high-flying dreams into motion, and together with the earthy element of Capricorn, we’re able to ground ourselves and focus on our goals.
No wonder Capricorn bookends the year. The pragmatism and laser focus of the Sea Goat offer an amazing way to wrap up the season and look forward to a new year. During these last weeks of 2018, we can use Capricorn’s practical energy to shift and sort through the lessons we’ve learned this past year. We can see which projects triumphed, as well as which ones failed, and we can go back to the drawing board fueled by the ambition to get it right next time.
It’s also an amazing energy to use as we kick off a new year. The Sea Goat likes to climb mountains, so this Capricorn season is all about doing whatever it takes to be the best you can be. Capricorn is a perfectionist and demands only the best of the best, both from life and of themselves.
Which is why now is the time to prioritize your goals. What do you really, really want? What makes your heart sing? Because ’tis the season to build your empire.
But Capricorn also reminds us of the motivation behind our goals, and why we do the things we do. Since the Sea Goat is all about bettering the self, you’ll want to use this inspirational energy to take a new class or course to up your game, and/or commit to some major self-reflection to see where you are in relation to where you want to go. What do you need to do in order to make your dreams more real? What are the steps that will help you get there? What can stay, and what needs to go?
It’s important to keep in mind, however, that Capricorn isn’t always so serious. In fact, the Sea Goat has one of the best senses of humor in the zodiac. Even while you’re work, working for that money, keep it light. Find the funny in your situation. There’s no point in trying to achieve A-list goals if you’re not happy about the journey. So make sure that the goals you’re working on for 2019 are aligned with who you are and what truly lights you up.
