We can’t stop bopping to Tinashe’s new single “Superlove”

Though there are plenty of jammable tunes this summer, I personally haven’t quite found *the* summer jam. Until now — Tinashe, whose “2 On” was a killer jam in 2014, just dropped “Superlove,” and it’s over-the-top, scintillating electro goodness.

The song borrows from the age-old topic of new love, the kind of love that makes you disown all the other “love” you’d had before, the kind that sparks and surprises you, the kind that makes you sweat in both a good and bad way. As Tinashe explained it on a radio interview:

It’s also a song about transformation, especially the one that you undergo when you meet a person who makes you feel totally different about the world, about yourself. “I might let you change me” — this is the #1 thing people are told not to do, not to want, in a relationship. Yet, so many of us do undergo some natural changes when we’re in that deep. “Superlove” takes all of that energy, all of that uncertainty, and all of that passion and ties it all up in one fantastic jam.
