The newest wedding dress trend is not what we were expecting
Wedding trends come and go, but one thing’s for sure: wedding attire has definitely gotten more casual in recent times. More and more brides are opting for colorful wedding dresses, two piece wedding dresses (or even suits), and more affordable options, such as Urban Outfitter’s bridal line.
That makes it easier than ever to infuse more of your personal style into your wedding. And it appears that more and more brides are showcasing their love of the outdoors into their wedding by wearing a camo-print wedding dress.
Yes, you read that right. Camo wedding dresses. We’re not talking the camo of traditional army fatigues, of course, but the camo pattern that hunters typically wear. This camo print is designed to mimic leaves, twigs, dirt, bark, and grass, usually in muted shades of green and brown. Hunters also usually wear orange for safety reasons, which is also being incorporated into wedding dresses. However, brides aren’t limited to that color pattern. Camo wedding dresses are available in a wide range of colors, including pink, orange, purple, and the traditional wedding white. Grooms can get in on the action too, with ties, vests, and even whole tuxedos being manufactured in the camo print.
Cosmo reports that some bridal experts credit the rising trend to the popularity of shows like Duck Dynasty, but a quick Google search proved that camo wedding attire has had an underground following for several years. It just seems to be more easily accessible now. Cosmo also reports that over 22,000 people search for “camo wedding dresses” on Google every month — the same amount of people searching for lace wedding dresses.
A camo wedding dress may not be for everyone, but it is a pretty unique way to incorporate one of your passions (or prints!) into a pretty important day in your life.
