Camila Cabello just hinted at a collaboration with J Balvin and Pitbull
Life after Fifth Harmony, Camila Cabello is working full throttle and successfully launching her solo career. In a heartbeat, Camila has achieved new accomplishments: starring on the cover of Billboard, Seventeen, and recently releasing a new song with Cashmere Cat.
Now, Camila has teased a possible collaboration with Latino powerhouses J Balvin and Pitbull. Talk about a trifecta! With more than 9 million followers on her Instagram account, Camila mysteriously announced by posting a black and white picture captioned “vroom vroom,” followed by racing car emojis. In the photo, the three appear in an amiable yet powerful hug with Camila front and center.
The picture was later reposted by J Balvin with a one-word caption: “LATINOS,” and also followed by car emojis. Like Camila, J Balvin is not shy about collaborations, his masterly works include “Sorry” with Justin Bieber, and “Safari” with Pharrell. Not only are Latino names featured in pop music, but most importantly Latino sounds, as J Balvin’s reggaeton, are entering and dominating mainstream spaces.
Additionally, Camila followed her previous post with another picture, this time proudly holding her roots, a Cuban flag and sending a shout out to latinos: pa mi gente latina stand up. J Balvin and Pitbull were tagged on the picture, as well! As a Cuban-american, Camila Cabello is approaching her solo career with much pride and cultural preservation.
In an essay penned in Pop Sugar, Camila deepens about her multicultural roots, being born in Havana, Cuba and living in Mexico City and facing the strive of immigration. “I am so proud to be Cuban-Mexican,” Cabello wrote, “This country [United States] was built on immigrants. People who were brave enough to start over.”
We are very excited and looking forward to this holy divine collaboration. And maybe Camila will drop another clue on Instagram soon? Meanwhile, we are thrilled to see Camila embark on a new road.
