Parents are sharing what they’d do if their kid “ridiculed” Marco Rubio the way Parkland survivor Cameron Kasky did
After a mass shooting rocked their community and took the lives of 17 innocent people on February 14th, the students of Parkland, Florida are banding together in an attempt to change gun laws in our country. And last night, February 21st, many of these students attended a CNN town hall meeting in which they were able to pose questions to Florida politicians and NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch.
In one particularly inspiring moment, 17-year-old Cameron Kasky, a survivor of the shooting, faced off against Senator Marco Rubio.
“Can you tell me right now that you will not accept a single donation from the NRA in the future?” Kasky asked the Republican senator. Rubio paused before saying, “I do support the Second Amendment. And I also support the right of you and everyone here to be able to go to school and be safe.”
But Kasky didn't accept the answer, responding to Rubio with, "In the name of 17 people, you cannot ask the NRA to keep their money out of your campaign?"

Some viewers felt Kasky was out of line. Todd Starnes, a commentator for FOX News, tweeted:

And the responses that Starnes got in return were nothing short of amazing. Parents all over the country shared what they’d do if their kid had challenged Rubio.

Be thankful they are 1) alive and not dead in a senseless school shooting and 2) throw them a party for being brave, intelligent, and poised

We don’t think that Cameron Kasky was being disrespectful. We think he was raising his voice for the 17 students who couldn’t. We applaud you Cameron. You’re making your country proud.
