Cameron Diaz has reportedly retired from acting, and we’re pretty bummed

We probably won’t be seeing Cameron Diaz on the big screen anytime soon. Longtime pal (and The Sweetest Thing co-star) Selma Blair confirmed that Cameron Diaz is retired, and we have  feelings about this.

Diaz’s last screen credit was back in 2014 in the Annie remake. Prior to that, she was balancing roughly three to four projects every year. While she’s always been a star, she began starring in back-to-back blockbusters in the late ’90s (her first acting credit being the 1994 Jim Carrey film The Mask).

Diaz and Blair have remained close since sharing the screen back in 2002. According to Blair, she grabbed a bite with Diaz the other day and reminisced about their time on set.

"I had lunch with Cameron the other day," Blair revealed, as reported by Metro. "We were reminiscing about the film. I would have liked to do a sequel but Cameron’s retired from acting. She’s like, 'I’m done.' I mean, she doesn't need to make any more films. She has a pretty great life. I don’t know what it would take to bring her back. She's happy."

Diaz is likely spending her time enjoying married life. She tied the knot with Benji Madden, a member of the band Good Charlotte, back in 2015. The two knew it was love immediately, and reportedly got married just two months after meeting.

She’s also launched The Body Book, a website which promotes long-term health and happiness through holistic approaches. She published a book with the same title back in 2013.

While retiring is solely Diaz’s call to make, we’ll miss her on our screens. From There’s Something About Mary to Charlie’s Angels, many of her movies have become classics and our go-to faves. We’ll always have the memories.
