Hard-packed Butterbeer ice cream is now a thing, and it’s perfect for 100-degree days

When it comes to magical food, there’s no arguing that Butterbeer is the best of the best. Sure, Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans and Chocolate Frogs are interesting choices, but nothing beats the creamy, foamy goodness of Butterbeer. You can currently get your hands on the beverage when you pay a visit to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (unless you’re game for something of the knock-off variety). And now, for the first time at Universal Studios Hollywood, you can also snag Butterbeer ice cream.

We repeat, Butterbeer Ice Cream is now a thing, and this news is even better than when Harry defeated Voldemort. Okay, maybe not, but it’s close.

Universal Studios Orlando already offers Butterbeer Soft Serve, but Hollywood’s version is hard-packed ice cream — as in, you can get it in scoops, and in individual containers. It’s a sumptuous addition to the magical array of Butterbeer-inspired treats, including Butterbeer Potted Cream and Butterbeer Fudge. Hey, you can never get enough of Butterbeer anything. Can Butterbeer cookies or Butterbeer churro sticks be next, perhaps?

In a press release, Butterbeer Ice Cream is described as a dessert that tastes similar to butterscotch and shortbread. You can also opt to add extra toppings of your choice. Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans may be a suitable option, but that might be weird, and maybe not even Ron Weasley would want to wolf that combo down.

"The rich palate-pleasing Butterbeer-flavoured hard pack ice cream is a delightful and delicious new addition to the menu of Butterbeer items currently available," the release reads, "including such Butterbeer favorites as traditional, frozen and hot beverages, as well as Butterbeer Potted Cream and Butterbeer Fudge."

Visitors who want to indulge in the hard-packed butterscotch-flavored dessert may head their way to the Three Broomsticks pub to pick one up or make a pitstop at one of the food carts at Hogsmeade.
