Disney Channel just set the premiere date for its Bug Juice revival — and it’s right around the corner

It’s time to pack sleeping bags, stock up on bug spray, and head up to Maine because summer camp is officially back in session. Disney Channel has officially revealed the premiere date for its Bug Juice revival, and it’s *just* around the corner.

The summer camp docuseries, now known as Bug Juice: My Adventures at Camp, will be returning to Camp Waziyatah on July 16th. Yes, Bug Juice returns in less than TWO weeks!

The original series, which ran for three seasons from 1998 to 2001, marked Disney Channel’s first foray into unscripted TV. The show took place at a different camp every summer: the first season was filmed at Camp Waziyatah in Waterford, Maine; the subsequent seasons were filmed at camps in North Carolina and New Mexico.

What better way to kick-start a new iteration of the iconic kids series than the place where it all began?

The 16-part series will air a new episodes every day from Monday to Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET. In addition to airing on Disney Channel, the series will also be available on the DisneyNOW app and Disney Channel VOD.

When Disney Channel first announced the revival last summer, Deadline reported that it would aim to “capture the authentic adventures of a group of kids age 10-12 as they head to summer camp, join in exciting and challenging outdoor activities, establish tight bonds with bunkmates and create unforgettable memories.”

With a new generation of campers — and viewers — the updated take on the series will come armed with emojis, memes, and even a cool Boomerang every now and then. Despite its new digital-age updates, the series will still be the beloved, sometimes daunting, whirlwind camp adventure that reminds us all of the best parts of childhood.

Make some bug juice and a few s’mores and tune into the first episode of Bug Juice: My Adventures at Camp on Monday, July 16th at 7:30 p.m. ET on Disney Channel.
