A new budget airline is offering $149 flights from the U.S. to Barcelona, and bless

Back in December, we reported there would be even more cheap flights to Europe — though we couldn’t be certain if they’d appear as affordable routes operated by legacy carriers like British Airways and Iberia, or if they’d be carried on the wings of a new budget carrier.

Today, International Airlines Group announced the launch of LEVEL. This low-cost, long haul airline will begin flying twin Airbus A330’s in June 2017, with inaugural flights from Barcelona to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Buenos Aires, and Punta Cana.

One-way flights begin at €99 (about $149), though there will be fees for several services. Like WOW Air and Norwegian Air, LEVEL will charge for everything from seat assignments to in-flight food to checked luggage.

Right now, however, round-trip fares from the West Coast can be found for as little as $252. According to the Airfare Spot, non-stop flights from Los Angeles and Oakland, California are on sale during the peak summer months. Tickets can be found on the new flylevel.com website, with availability beginning in June and scattered across the calendar as late as October. Seats at this ultra-low price are likely to sell out fast.

In a statement, IAG indicated definite plans for expansion to other European destinations in the near future.
