The secret to perfect bronzer might be BB cream

As summer draws to a close and tan lines start to fade, we’ve been on the lookout for an easy way to keep giving off summer vibes for as long as possible. Luckily, Benefit Cosmetic’s Makeup Master, José Rivera, gave us the perfect solution: sun-stripping.

"Sun-stripping is that look you get when you're on a rooftop enjoying cocktails with your friends," José shared. "When you're wearing sunglasses you might get that strip of glow across your face ... like a goggle tan but way more exciting."

To achieve the ~ultimate~ sun-strip, sweep bronzer (José’s favorite is Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer) along your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose, basically anywhere the sun would naturally hit your face. Sounds like a great way to keep up our denial that winter is coming.

SO WHAT IF IT’S SNOWING? IT IS WINTER IN MY HEART AND ON MY CHEEKBONES.

We’ve all had (or been) that one friend who piles on so much bronzer they look like an employee of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, but José recommended a simple way to avoid that Oompa Loompa lewk.

"A great way to get that enhanced, super-saturated, beautiful faux glow is to actually use a little BB cream," said José, who suggested using bronzer instead of translucent powder to set your BB cream. "As the BB cream oxidizes from the sunscreen that's in it, it will make the bronze color richen up."

So bronzer + BB cream = sun-kissed all year round? UM, SCIENCE IS AMAZING.

Here is our full tutorial for sun-stripping. Remember, bronze responsibly!
