Britney Spears: After Body Shaming Post Backlash, Spears Deletes Post

Is Britney’s Instagram Toxic? Christina Aguilera May Think So.

Britney Spears apparently has a different definition of “beautiful” than Christina Aguilera does, and it’s causing a rift between the two singers.

Spears faced backlash for an Instagram post that had a caption that appeared to body-shame the “Beautiful” singer’s backup dancers, stating “If I had Christina Aguilera’s dancers, I would have looked extremely small.”

The caption accompanied a graphic of a quote from the late comedian Rodney Dangerfield that stated: “I found there was only one way to look thin: hang out with fat people.”

The quote was yet another reference to the 40-year old’s longtime conservatorship in which Spears’ father controlled many aspects of her life and career. In an ironic twist, the “Tiny Dancer” singer alleges that her team gave her “tiny” backup dancers which in turn, made her look and feel larger, and lack confidence on stage.

According to Page Six, shortly after the September 12, 2022 post, Spears’ 41-million follower Instagram account had one less. Aguilera reportedly quietly unfollowed Spears as fans urged her to delete the post altogether, which she appears to have done on September 28th.

In fact, daily videos of her scantily clad while dancing wildly or rambling on are garnering lots of attention, both positive and negative, and Spears doesn’t seem to mind which it is.

Earlier this month, Spears took to the social media platform to say she “subconsciously wants to offend everyone,” since she was so offended herself during her 13-year long conservatorship which finally came to an end in November of 2021.

And it seems she’s succeeded in doing just that!
