Our girl Britney Spears just announced some major Britney Spears news

We’ll just get right to it: Britney Spears is coming back with a new single really, really soon! High fives all around!

The singer told People that she’s dropping a new single on May 5, which is so close (and yet so far away).

We don’t know much about the song yet, but we do know that it will feature Iggy Azalea and they’ll be shooting a music video for it. (More high fives!) Back in September, Britney Instagrammed a studio selfie, so we kind of had a feeling something was in the works.

As for a full album, that’s another story.

“I’m gonna do [a new album] slowly but surely,” Britney told Billboard earlier this month. “There’s a lot going on with my kids and schools and, you know, adding new sports and stuff like that. I’m gonna try to do my best to do an amazing album, but it’s not my full priority right now.”

Britney’s being humble, of course. Not only is she a totally devoted mom, she’s basically Elvis in Vegas. Her live Planet Hollywood show has reportedly grossed over $42 million in ticket sales, and she’s in talks to extend her residency through to 2017.

In the meantime, she’s kindly dropping a track to hold us over. And it sounds like singles may be all we’re getting from Britney for a while.

“Right now we’re just concentrating on putting out a few great singles as they come,” Britney’s manager Larry Rudolph told Billboard. “We’re not really talking seriously about a new album yet. Albums just aren’t as important in the digital age as they used to be. Britney will get to one eventually, but not right now.”

Her last album, Britney Jean, came outin 2013, which feels like a really long time ago. We’re so ready for more. Bring it, Britney!
