Britney Spears and her dancers just did the mannequin challenge and it was for a huge celebration
While she might be wowing crowds with her Las Vegas residency, Britney Spears has done the mannequin challenge with her dancers and it’s to celebrate this HUGE award.
Now, we’ve seen some pretty epic attempts at the viral video trend. For example, Blac Chyna did the challenge while in the delivery room, these four-year-olds tried so hard to get it right, Destiny’s Child reunited to do it, and even musical legend Paul McCartney gave the challenge a go.
Now Britney Spears and her dancers have done their own version of the viral video challenge and what’s more it was all to celebrate a huge accomplishment.
Sharing a video on Instagram, Spears and her dancers can be seen mid-dance routine on the stage at the Axis Theater at Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas, where the pop music legend hosts her “Piece of Me” residency. In the background, the singer’s upcoming single, “Slumber Party,” can be heard as the camera swoops in between her dancers.
However, the camera then moves down to reveal that Britney had won the prize for Best Resident Performer by the Las Vegas Review-Journal!
We couldn’t be happier for Britney and her dancers for winning this award. The star, who has been performing in Las Vegas since 2013, has repeatedly been hailed for changing the game when it comes to Las Vegas residencies, and has encouraged a string of younger artists such as Jennier Lopez, Pitbull, and the Backstreet Boys to head down to The Strip to perform their hits.
What’s more, the singer also recently revealed that she plans to release a a special remix of her song “Slumber Party” with one of our fave new stars, Tinashe.
The track, which is taken off Britney’s ninth album Glory, is set to be the second single lifted from the collection and Britney revealed that she’d shot an Eyes Wide Shut themed video for the track with Tinashe.
While we wait (im)patiently for the “Slumber Party” video to drop, we’re going to spend the rest of the day listening to Glory to celebrate Britney Spears’ award! Congrats!!!
