Britney Spears responded to all of the lip-syncing rumors
Hey, everyone, pop superstar Britney Spears wants the lip-syncing rumors to stop. Rumors that Spears lip-syncs during her live performances have been circulating for as long as we can remember, but she has news for those who believe the rumors to be true: They’re not.
Even though people have been talking about these rumors for literally decades, Spears has never really addressed them until now. She recently spoke to an Israeli TV show before her performance in Tel Aviv, and she expressed her frustration about never receiving the credit she deserves.
“I’m glad you’re addressing this question because it’s really funny, she responded when a reporter asked how much of her Piece of Me tour shows are live. “A lot of people think that I don’t sing live. I usually, because I’m dancing so much, I do have a little bit of playback, but there’s a mixture of my voice and the playback. It really pisses me off because I am busting my ass out there and singing at the same time and nobody ever really gives me credit for it, you know?

We can’t even imagine how difficult it must be to dance and sing at the same time (we have a hard enough time doing those things separately), so it makes sense that a playback would be there for support.
Back in 2014, Spears’ manager Adam Leber, told Medium, “To put on the show that she puts on, it’s virtually impossible to sing the entire time and do what she does. She’s singing on every song, basically, when she has the ability to sing. There’s no way you can dance for 90 minutes straight and sing the entire time.”
She’s doing her best, and that’s all we can ask of anyone.
