Britney Spears Shocks Fans with Birthday Posts About Her Family
Has Britney made up with her estranged younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears?
Britney Spears celebrated her 41st birthday over the weekend, and while most of the celebrations were kept under wraps, she made sure to spend some time on Instagram.
Followers were treated to a whole host of content (including a topless beach photo) along with a series of sentimental posts centered around an odd topic for her: family.
The singer is known for talking trash about her relations, many of whom were responsible for keeping Spears in a 13-year conservatorship. On the day of her birthday however, Britney sent fans spinning with some throwback images of baby sis Jamie Lynn Spears.

“It’s my b-day but you’re my heart so I’m thinking about you,” Spears wrote in the caption of the post, which contains two images of Jamie Lynn from when the sibling star was very young. “Congratulations on being so brave, inspiring, and showing guts and glory in your show 🎉 !!!”
The reference is to Jamie Lynn’s latest endeavor, Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, which is set to premiere on January 4, 2023. The Zoey 101 star is part of a celebrity reality cast tasked with toughing it out in extreme military-style situations.
“Growing up my sister became worldwide famous,” Jamie Lynn states in a trailer for the show, and it couldn’t be any clearer who she’s referring to. She explains how she wants to prove her worth, by spend the next few weeks without makeup, family, and the other comforts of life.
Britney continued her tribute to her sister’s challenges in the caption. “You ain’t alone … if anybody knows what that feels like … I get it 🤧🤧🤧”
Way to bring it back to you, Britney, but nevertheless, the sentiment sounds sweet. Spears left off by declaring how much she loved her “baby sister,” while fans tried to decode in the comments what the post was really about.
“Posting your sister on your birthday? Absolutely not a #freebritney move,” IG user @_ashley__michelle__ wrote.
Previously, it seemed that Britney and Jamie Lynn had been out of contact. A source previously revealed to Us Weekly that “Britney feels extremely betrayed by Jamie Lynn, as she has expressed publicly,” and that the “Toxic” singer plans to reveal a world of details surrounding their relationship in an upcoming memoir.
Jamie Lynn did not respond to her big sister’s birthday shoutout.
Along with a shoutout to her sis, Britney also took a moment to mention her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. The two boys have been very vocal about disassociating with their pop icon mother, according to Page Six, and she rarely posts about them.
Maybe she gets a free pass for her birthday, as she posted individual images of each son on her big day. The captions for both photos are the same.
“To both of my boys … I love you … I would die for you !!! God speed my precious hearts !!!” she wrote. “I would give anything just to touch your face !!! I send my love … Mamasita🌹🌹🌹”
Photos of Sean Preston have since been removed, but an image of Jayden in a formal suit is still on her profile.
At least husband number three Sam Asghari gave fans a few details about the birthday celebrations, which included multiple batches of balloons, flowers, cakes, and gifts.
He even posted a “how-to” video Reel on keeping the birthday romance alive, complete with a reference to Britney’s spinning dances.
“I don’t know how she does it, the spinning thing is making me dizzy,” Asghari admits in a voiceover, while spraying the living room of their shared house with air freshener to “make sure it smells amazing.”
Britney herself is even spotted in the background a few times, and while some fan theories think this is a body double, at least we have proof that she and Asghari were in the same room.
