Britney Spears got real about how being both a superstar and a mom ain’t easy

As we know, motherhood, while totally amazing, can often be tough, especially if you’re raising children on your own. In fact, according to Britney Spears, being a single mom can be “challenging,” and we totally get why.

The singer, who recently completed a small tour of Asia and Israel, was speaking at the launch of her new fragrance “VIP Private Show,” a perfume which marks the performer’s 22nd scent in total, where she got super real about balancing her hectic professional life with her personal life.

“My kids come first, always,” Britney said to People“There is nothing more rewarding than being a mom and watching my sons grow into young men.”

Britney’s two boys, Jayden James and Sean Preston, are now 10 and 11 respectively, but the singer is happy that she gets to “experience all of life’s adventures with them,” even if they are growing up fast.

While Brit does co-parent the two boys with her ex-partner Kevin Federline, the singer did admit that, as a single parent, she finds “the balance between work and my personal life…a challenge.”

“I always do my best to plan my schedule around my family whenever possible,” she said.

Thankfully, the singer, whose lengthy Las Vegas residency is coming to an end in December, gets on well with her two boys’ father.

“You fall into your routine and it’s really easy now,” Federline told Bravo’s Personal Space about sharing custody of Jayden James and Sean Preston. “It wasn’t always easy, but it’s a lot easier now.”

Regardless of her celebrity and the fact that she’s one of the biggest popstars on the planet, it sounds like Britney just likes doing normal mom things with her two kids.

“I love watching them play sports and just running around with them,” she said. “We have a lot of fun together. We love having a beach day together.”

We love that, despite being a huge star with a lot of responsibility, Britney Spears always puts her kids and family first. It’s inspiring to see someone be so successful and balance having a personal life, too (even if it is a challenge).

Meanwhile, rumors that Britney Spears would be playing the Super Bowl next year have, unfortunately, been denied by Pepsi. We’re hoping that they’re double bluffing us, tbh…#SPEARSBOWL2018
