Britney Spears’ first TV performance will make you feel nostalgic AF
It feels impossible to think it, but Britney Spears released her debut single “…Baby One More Time” 18 years ago!
Since then we’ve followed Britney’s career obsessively, watching her become a pop music icon with songs like “Toxic” and “I’m a Slave 4 U.” We’ve been through the highs, the lows, and the highs again. We’ve watched Britney become the Queen of the Las Vegas strip, and more recently we’ve seen the singer release her ninth (!) album, Glory.
Basically, Britney Spears has always been and will always be a part of our lives and for that we’re eternally grateful. Like Beyoncé, we’ll be fans for life.
Now we’ve just come across the ultimate #TBT to Britney Spears’ first TV performance and it’s making us feel nostalgic AF.
Performing “…Baby” (obvs) on The Ricki Lake Show (!!!), Britney looks SO YOUNG.

Okay, we’re loving EVERYTHING about this. Britney is rocking those ’90s cargo pants and we’re loving the little clips in her hair, and her dark lipstick. All of that paired with a crop top, and Britney Spears looks pretty on trend, tbh.
What’s more, we’re so impressed with her dancing. While things obviously heated up in that department, it’s incredible to see how self-assured she was on stage from such a young age. Literally, what a true superstar.
While we’re at it, check this cute performance of “…Baby One More Time” on Rosie O’Donnell.

SO. MUCH. ’90s. NOSTALGIA!
Let’s compare this to Britney’s rather sexy performance at the MTV VMAs this summer.

Things have moved on musically and in terms of the fashion (and the hair!), but one thing is still dead certain: Britney Spears is a proper performer.
Recently the star announced that her latest single, “Slumber Party,” would be a duet with rising star Tinashe, with the song’s music video set to debut tomorrow (November 18th). We’re sure that it’ll be a classic Britney video and we can’t wait to see it!
Long live Britney Spears, tbh, queen of the ’90s and pop’s true princess.
