We just can’t stop listening to Britney Spears’ cover of “Tom’s Diner”

It’s FINALLY Friday, and what better way to celebrate than by throwing a mini disco at your desk? (Hint: there is no better way. Trust.) Best of all, Britney Spears can totally make this happen. Her cover of Suzanne Vega’s iconic song “Tom’s Diner” leaked today, and now we’re all collectively dancing to the late-80s hit.  Brit’s sultry vocals and music producer Giorgio Moroder’s (who Rolling Stone describes as the “Italian disco pioneer”) retro electric beats transform this song into the most perfect thing we’ve heard in a long, long time. And it has us digging around for our old glitter platform shoes and metallic crop tops.

The cover, which you’ll be able to listen to in Moroder’s upcoming album, Déjà Vu (out June 12th), was actually Britney’s idea. Moroder told Rolling Stone, “Britney came to my management company with the idea to do a particular song with me, which was interesting because usually it’s the other way, with the producer offering a song.” And we’re so grateful she did, because she majorly gave “Tom’s Diner” a very rad, house party makeover —and it’s giving us SO. MUCH. LIFE.

Queen Britney has been on roll this year — from her crazy-successful Vegas tour and her lingerie line, to that highly anticipated collab with Iggy Azalea and her new album with RCA Records. Now we can’t wait to see what’s next for our ’90s pop princess.

Take a listen (but first — put on those dancing shoes and prepare to GET. DOWN.):
