Brie Larson sent the sweetest message to her “chosen brother” and there’s some awesome news in it

We’ve been big time fans of Brie Larson since way before her Oscar win. We were madly in love with her on Showtime’s The United States of Tara. She knocked our socks off in Short Term 12. And, of course, we couldn’t get enough of her tour de force performance in Room, the movie that solidly cemented her A-list status and got her that little gold man.
Brie Larson recently wished her Short Term 12 director Destin Cretton a very happy birthday on Instagram.
In her message, she thanked her director and “chosen brother” for recognizing her superstardom long before even Brie herself got it.
"To my chosen brother who definitely saw my talent before I did-the guy who sat next to me in the smallest coach seats listening to my life troubles and making me laugh. Remember in Switzerland when we were stranded after a screening and you asked a random guy how to get a taxi but instead he bought us beers and we just got to know him? Remember Disneyland? You are a lover and protector of this world!"
Brie then took a moment to appreciate what major milestones she and Cretton have hit over the course of their friendship.
"Can't believe how far we've come. I don't mean that as an expression...I really can't believe it. You're married now to the coolest girl in the world. I'm engaged! We just made another movie together. It was a real fancy one!!"
The movie Brie is talking about is the forthcoming Glass Castle, based on the bestselling Jeanette Walls memoir. Brie plays Walls, a member of a dysfunctional nonconformist family filled with artists and alcoholics. Naomi Watts and Woody Harrelson play matriarch and patriarch respectively. And of course, our beloved Brie and Destin are reunited!
Then Brie slipped some CRAZY GOOD NEWS into the message.
"And now I'm directing a movie with your movie family! It's all just too good."
Wait. WHAT? Stop the presses. Brie Larson is directing A MOVIE?
We checked IMDb and the awesomeness is true. Brie Larson is directing Unicorn Store.
Unicorn Store is set to come out in 2017. We absolutely can’t wait! You know us, we’re big old Brie Larson fans. Where she leads, we will follow.
