Brie Larson’s sheer grunge dress is giving us major “Corpse Bride” vibes
There’s just something about wearing a little black dress that leaves you feeling invincible. And if we were Brie Larson, we’d be all smiles in our Rodarte LBD, too. The actress wore a sheer black tulle gown at the brand’s haute couture show during Paris Fashion Week. The dress itself is reminiscent of the one Emily wore in Tim Burton’s cult-classic film Corpse Bride, thanks to its patchwork florals, raw hems, and asymmetrical cut.
Everyone deserves to feel like a bride at some point in their lives. Or, ya know, at least like they look so good they could come back from the dead and still be #flawless.
The dress looks like the gothic fairy tale piece we never knew we needed. It’s like graveyard dirt was mixed with stardust to create this glamorously macabre gown. Is this the perfect dress to wear next time you go to the cemetery with a lover? Depending on how extra you’re feeling, then probably.
As for Brie, she chose to accessorize this look with dangling gold hoops that popped perfectly against the slate gray of her dress.
With rosy cheeks and slick hair, Brie elevated the aesthetic from Tim Burton-chic to couture show-ready. This look is part grunge fantasy, part otherworldly statement, and fully the inspiration for our next little black dress buy.
