Brie Larson’s directorial debut is all about unicorns

One of our favorite ladies has pretty much mastered the art of acting, so she’s moving on to directing. Brie Larson is making her directorial debut, and we’re here for it. The Academy Award-winning actress spent the past year directing her first film, Unicorn Store, and it’s finally premiering!

Larson announced on Instagram, on Tuesday, that her “unusual little” indie film will be premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, and she seems adorably pumped about it.

She wrote, “Excited to announce that my directorial debut Unicorn Store will be premiering at #TIFF17 – Thank you to my cast, crew and fellow dreamers for helping make this dream come true. And thank you @tiff_net for embracing our unusual little movie.”

Larson also stars in the film about a young artist who is kicked out of art school and takes a job at a temp agency.

“Once there, she starts receiving these very odd and intricate magical invitations that lead her to a place called the Store, Larson told Variety back in August. “She learns she can get a unicorn, which has always been her dream since she was a kid. And it doesn’t cost anything, she just has to prove she’s worthy of it.

Brie Larson plus magical invitations plus unicorns equals YES PLEASE.

Unicorn Store also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Joan Cusack, and Bradley Whitford. The film festival will take place September 7th to 17th, but for those of us who won’t be attending, we’ll just wait right here for the film to premiere in theaters.
