Brie Larson took pics of some *serious* research for playing Captain Marvel

Ever since we discovered earlier this summer that Hollywood darling Brie Larson would be taking on the role of Captain Marvel, we couldn’t wait to see her gear up in superhero garb.
Turns out we don’t have to wait much longer — Larson just posted an adorable picture of herself dressed up in Captain Marvel’s red, yellow, and blue get-up, reading the original comic book series while curled up on the couch. She captioned the Twitter pic, which shows her browsing Captain Marvel, Vol. 1: Higher, Further, Faster, More, with “Larson Industries R&D Dept.” The post has been liked more than 20,000 times.

It’s been a big year for Brie, who won the Academy Award for best actress for her riveting performance in Room, as well as a Golden Globe and BAFTA. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige officially announced Larson as Captain Marvel at the annual San Diego Comic-Con event in June, Entertainment Weekly reported.

“Captain Marvel has gone by many names in the comics, has had many people who’ve inhabited that costume and used that power base,” Feige said. “I want to make it very clear: This hero’s name is Carol Danvers.”

However, Marvel fans have quite a while to wait — the movie is slated for March 8, 2019. In the meantime, we’ll see Brie star in The Glass Castle, an adaptation of the book by Jeannette Walls of the same name, as well as Kong: Skull Island.
