Brie Larson looks like Bob the Builder in a hard hat and khaki jumpsuit
At this point, we’re pretty much used to dress codes (sigh). Whether the strict school version of our childhoods or the social media driven dress codes of our present, these written or unwritten rules are still relevant to the way we interact with fashion. But there is a bright spot: a dress code can help us assess the mood of a gathering.
Apparently, Brie Larson can adhere to a dress code, too, because she looked Bob the Builder chic in this vintage Calvin Klein jumpsuit she wore to a themed dinner.
In an Instagram post, Brie explains her outfit choices by stating,
"When @theacademy says the dinner dress code is "Construction Chic" so you pull out your vintage Calvin Klein jumpsuit from @collection_la."
We love that Brie really went for it with this look. Not only is her khaki jumpsuit the perfect workwear piece, but if we didn’t know it was Calvin Klein, we would definitely think it was a real uniform. And the fact that Brie paired this with a hard hat really takes it to the next level — because safety first.
Brie finished off the ensemble with a crossbody bag and some white sneakers, playing up the “chic but working” vibe.
It seems that the Academy is working on a construction project for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, so perhaps this is the event Brie is referring to? Regardless, we do love this vintage jumpsuit on her. Calling it: This is the perfect mix of utilitarian and chic.
