Brie Larson posted a very 2004 throwback photo, and then realized she looks just like this cartoon character
Ah, 2004. Back then, Facebook had just launched. Ashlee Simpson lip-synced on Saturday Night Live. Mean Girls came out, instantly changing the way we spoke. And Brie Larson was not yet the superstar actress of critically-acclaimed films like Room. Brie recently threw it back to that glorious time in an Instagram post showing her art the 2004 Teen Choice Awards.
At that point, Brie was maybe best known for playing Beverly Mitchell’s sister in the Disney Channel original movie Right On Track. 2004 was a big year for her: She appeared in the iconic romantic comedies Sleepover and 13 Going On 30.
Check out this very 2000s lewk.
"Can we blame these poses on 'the times' or must I own up to my transgressions?" Brie captioned the post.
Sure, we can blame it on the times, Brie. And hey, that green scarf, collared sweater, and put-together hairstyle remind us of something…
Ah, there it is.
Her boyfriend, musician Alexander Greenwald, told Brie, “You look like you should be solving mysteries.” And we totally see the comparison to Scooby Doo‘s Daphne. The Scooby Doo live-action film starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar is truly one of a kind. But maybe it’s ripe for a remake starring Brie Larson?
Of course, she’d have to fit that in among a busy slate of upcoming blockbusters. She has four films coming out in 2017, and will also be filming for her role as Captain Marvel in the Avengers. Fingers crossed she’ll replicate her 2004 look next awards season. That scarf looks very versatile!
