This badass bride’s arm was bitten off by a crocodile days before her wedding
Weddings are stressful. Ask anyone. And if you’re currently in the middle of pre-wedding chaos, just take a deep breath and look to 25-year-old Zanele Ndlovu for inspiration. Ndlovu had her arm bitten off by a crocodile just days before saying “I Do”… and still went through with the ceremony like a BOSS.
Zanele’s terrifying experience occurred on April 30th while she was canoeing with her now-husband Jamie Fox. Just like out of our worst nightmares, a crocodile surfaced, snatched Ndlovu from the canoe, and dragged her down. “The canoe started deflating, and it all happened so fast,” Zanele told Chronicle. “The crocodile bit me again and pulled me into the water. My husband was thrown out on the opposite side so the boat was between us.”
Her now-husband began punching the crocodile until it let go.
"I was shouting, trying to save her," Jamie told the Associated Press. "She was not complaining of pain when we managed to pull her out of the water, maybe because of the shock. We were hoping the doctors would save her arm but that was not to be."
We’re feeling anxious just thinking about it. While the couple had to get married at a hospital chapel instead of their intended venue, they still got married. And that’s beautiful.

Zanele admitted that while the day wasn’t the way she had always envisioned it would be, it was still wonderful and filled with love.
"I didn't know fate would have me wed in a hospital chapel, with one limb missing," she said. "But in all this, I'm not complaining. My wedding was the best, and I have a wonderful husband."
We’re so inspired by Zanele’s positive attitude, and we’re wishing these newlyweds nothing but the best as they embark on their life together.
